Michelle Casserley is an artist and lifelong learner who lives by and swims everyday in the ocean. She is passionate about the role of creative process as a support for recovery work.
Early years were spent in retail and bookkeeping, she then got inspired to work in health and wellness, using the modality of Bowen Therapy. Business training supported her to start to build her own business alongside her work.
Michelle found the benefits of creative practices such as art, journaling and music were a great daily support for mental illness recovery, paired with therapeutic work with professionals.
She developed a passion for supporting others with mental illness and worked for some years in community mental health, facilitating a variety of activities including art and drumming programs. Working at the local DV & FV service, Michelle supported women and children with drumming and art. She continued building her creative wellness business while working in these jobs before moving fully into private practice.
All ages and abilities are welcomed into various art and music workshops. Visual Journaling is a large part of her own therapeutic wellness work and she has studied facilitator training with Lisa Sonora to build business practices and plans and support clients. Still practicing as a Bowen Therapist and also able to support NDIS Clients with experienced mental health support.
Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) has had a huge impact in her life and her family, so training as an accredited facilitator was the next logical step. COSP courses are now available in person or online.
Current art practices are bookbinding and visual journalling, painting in oils and acrylic, printing, photography, particularly underwater photography. She is passionate about the therapeutic value of art for everyday wellness and also as a recovery support.
Some kind words…
Michelle goes through the workshop at a pace you can let the lessons sink in. She facilitates discussions to help you apply circle to your parenting and relationships. During the 8 weeks my relationship with my children improved 🙂 The skills I have learned will only help those connections grow. Thanks Michelle!

I have found the Circle Of Security course to be an incredibly valuable set of life skills that applies to all our relationships (family, partners, friends & our relationship with ourselves as well!) and helped give me the understanding and the tools to have much healthier & happier relationships.Michelle creates a very safe place to learn these life skills and holds space amazingly well during & after the course.Highly recommend this course to anyone looking to lower stress levels & have better relationships!

I have known Michelle for many years now in several different contexts. Not only is Michelle a lovely person…I count myself lucky to have her friendship. I have always appreciated Michelle’s relaxed and welcoming manner as well as her ‘healing hands’ in terms of Bowen treatments. Can also recommend her as a facilitator as we have had her guide a group for staff team building exercise, and conducting a drumming workshop with a group of children and some mums who had experienced trauma. Her knowledge and professionalism was invaluable.
